My Story/h1>
I’m Jude.
I’m in my 50s and think I’ve tried every ‘diet’ going. Some giving me success, only to put the weight back on plus a little extra for good measure….. sound familiar?.
I think turning 50 was my ‘epiphany’ moment and I realised I had to take back control of my life, ditch the yoyo dieting culture and I decided to get healthier and fitter once and for all. I didn’t have any pre-existing health conditions but knew if I carried on, I certainly would end up with some.
My journey started in Oct of 2019 – I decided to have weight loss surgery (a gastric sleeve – paid for by myself with Mr Bart Decadt at Spire Warrington). Not a decision taken lightly by any means – and no, it isn’t a magic wand!
It started off well (first 7 mths) then the weight loss stopped for 4 mths, so I knew I had to do something more … Covid had hit by this time and the aftercare was pretty non-existant, so I took matters into my own hands.
What did I do?
I decided to go ’back to school’ and re-trained in the areas of Nutrition and Fitness. I gained professional qualifications as a Personal Trainer (EQF Level 5) and also in Advanced Nutrition, Food Science and Meal Planning, as well as in Advanced Weight Loss.
So far, my journey had seen me lose 7 1/2 stone but sometimes “Life” comes along, throws you a curved ball and some of those better food choices and new habits fall by the wayside and lbs get regained (all 2st 9 of them…. yes of course you can gain weight, like I said it’s not a magic wand!)
Fast forward to June 1st 2022 where I had given my head a wobble and asked myself – what was I missing?….. my answer “accountability”
I decided to address that by looking for something that would serve this purpose and keep me accountable whilst also seeing results. I found it!
I am now part of something I enjoy, there is support whenever I need it, so many different and great workouts to choose from for all to enjoy, I’m smashing my targets (4 small goals, which I have set myself – 3 already achieved!) and I’m feeling fitter and mentally stronger than I have in a very long time. This is definitely working for me.
I’ve also realised wholeheartedly that it’s not just about weight, it’s overall health, it’s mindset, wellbeing, mindfulness, friendship, community and belonging…. all rolled up into being the best version of YOU that you can be.
I now want to help others that may be struggling just as I was, So, I have recently transitioned from customer to becoming one of the Wellness Coaches within this inspiring community, where I can draw on my previous experiences and my relevant qualifications to help other people achieve their goals.
I made myself a priority…. and I haven’t looked back since.
I’m still on my journey and I’m heading back in the right direction, so why don’t we do this together!
